><p>Endometriosis resections are often the first step towards improving the quality of life and fertility of affected patients. However, postoperative adhesions can jeopardize these treatment goals. Two consecutive publications by Kr\u00e4mer et al. (2021 &amp; 2023) provide important insights into how the risk of adhesions can be reduced and what this means for patients &#8211; with impressive results.   <\/p>\n<p>Publication 1: Adhesion prevention after endometriosis surgery (2021)<br \/>\n A randomized, controlled study investigated how effectively the 4DryField\u00ae PH adhesion barrier can prevent postoperative adhesions. The results speak for themselves:<br \/>\n\u2705 85% fewer adhesions and<br \/>\n\u2705 significantly fewer affected areas (53%)<br \/>\n compared to the control group <\/p>\n<p>But what does this reduction mean in practical terms for patients?<\/p>\n<p>Publication 2: Long-term follow-up on pain &amp; fertility (2023)<br \/>\n A one-year follow-up of patients showed significant clinical improvements:<br \/>\n \u2705 Pregnancy rate almost tripled &#8211; a significant advantage for patients who wish to have children after endometriosis resection<br \/>\n \u2705 Reduction in pain parameters (5 types of pain that can occur in the pelvis were examined, such as menstrual pain, pain unrelated to the menstrual cycle or pain when going to the toilet, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>Why is this relevant?<br \/>\nThe studies by Kr\u00e4mer et al. show impressively that adhesion barriers not only prevent adhesions, but can also help to improve the quality of life of patients in terms of pain and fertility <\/p>\n<p>The full publication of the studies summarized above can be found here:<br \/>\nKr\u00e4mer et al.
